Our story

Osiligi Charity Projects has been supporting the Maasai community and the people of Kenya for 12 years. Last year, we carried out a community consultation to ensure our work aligns with the community's hopes and ambitions for the future. This led to our transition to Together with Kenya UK and the creation of a new partner NGO, Together with Kenya Foundation. We also have a number of exciting new projects planned to better support the Maasai community in Olepolos.

Our mission

The prevention or relief of poverty in Kenya by providing, or assisting in the provision of, clean water, education, healthcare, training, and all necessary support aimed at enabling individuals to generate a sustainable income and become self-sufficient.

What we do

We are a UK charity, Together with Kenya UK (TWK UK), working in partnership with TWK Foundation – a registered NGO in Kenya. Together, we repair broken hand pumps and support communities in Maasai regions, helping families break the cycle of poverty through education, healthcare, and access to clean water. We also empower individuals to become more economically active through mentorship, apprenticeships, and skills-based training.

Investing in education, water, and opportunity

We’re building practical, sustainable solutions – from repairing hand pumps to creating new learning spaces – all led by the needs and hopes of the local community.

Projects

Education projects

We're developing a range of projects to support learning across all age groups, from young children to adults in the wider community.

Water projects

We're helping to bring clean, safe drinking water to rural communities in Kenya by restoring broken hand pumps, building solar-powered boreholes, and expanding access to this basic human right.

1. Education

There are currently around 200 students supported through our school, with a further 100 attending secondary school – including places at prestigious national institutions such as Alliance.

The school has been the second highest performing school in the sub-county for three years in a row.

Construction is underway on a new Primary and Junior Secondary School (JSS), a Community Learning Centre, and a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College. These new facilities will serve the wider Maasai community, helping young people develop the skills needed to support and grow the local economy.

While students continue to learn at the existing site, we hope to welcome the first cohort to the new school in
January 2026.

Other areas of focus include:

  • Skills training across all school levels
  • Support for additional learning needs
  • Career information and guidance

2. Clean drinking water

Access to safe drinking water is a basic necessity – but in many areas, broken hand pumps go unrepaired for years. Our team of volunteer Kenyan engineers travels across the country to restore these essential lifelines.

As of November 2024, over 2,700 hand pumps have been repaired, benefiting more than 750,000 people, including schools, clinics, and villages.

There are over
32,000 hand pumps in Kenya, with around 30% currently non-functional. Each year, we restore 300–400 pumps, and we train local communities to carry out basic maintenance so they stay functional long-term.

Repairs cost between
£20–£800, depending on the condition of the pump and the work required. On average, one pump supports 50–100 families, and the long-term cost per person helped is around 50p.

How you can help

There are many ways to support our work – from financial donations to sharing your time, skills, or resources. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or part of a school or organisation, your involvement can help change lives across Kenya.

Support a child through Primary and Junior Secondary School, Secondary School, or University. We only sponsor students who would be unable to access education without your help.
