What we do
Together with Kenya UK is a UK-based charity working hand in hand with our partner NGO, Together with Kenya Foundation, across Kenya.
We focus on helping Maasai families lift themselves out of poverty through education, healthcare, mentorships, apprenticeships, and skills-based training, while also repairing broken hand pumps and restoring access to clean water across Kenyan communities.
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in Kenya by providing access to clean water, education, healthcare, and skills training – empowering people to build sustainable, self-sufficient futures.
Our story
Osiligi Charity Projects has supported the Maasai community and the people of Kenya for over 12 years. In 2023, we carried out a community consultation to ensure our work truly reflected the community’s hopes and ambitions for the future.
This process led to our transition to Together with Kenya UK and the creation of a new partner NGO, Together with Kenya Foundation. We now look ahead with exciting new projects designed to best support disadvantaged Maasai communities.
Investing in education, water, and opportunity
We’re building practical, sustainable solutions – from repairing hand pumps to creating new learning spaces – all led by the needs and hopes of the local community.
Projects
1. Education
There are currently around 200 students supported through our school, with a further 100 attending secondary school – including places at prestigious national institutions such as Alliance.
The school has been the second highest performing school in the sub-county for three years in a row.
Construction is underway on a new Primary and Junior Secondary School (JSS), a Community Learning Centre, and a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) College. These new facilities will serve the wider Maasai community, helping young people develop the skills needed to support and grow the local economy.
While students continue to learn at the existing site, we hope to welcome the first cohort to the new school in
January 2026.
Other areas of focus include:
- Skills training across all school levels
- Support for additional learning needs
- Career information and guidance
2. Clean drinking water
Access to safe drinking water is a basic necessity – but in many areas, broken hand pumps go unrepaired for years. Our team of volunteer Kenyan engineers travels across the country to restore these essential lifelines.
As of November 2024, over 2,700 hand pumps have been repaired, benefiting more than 750,000 people, including schools, clinics, and villages.
There are over
32,000 hand pumps
in Kenya,
with around
30% currently non-functional.
Each year, we restore
300–400 pumps,
and we train local communities to carry out basic maintenance so they stay functional long-term.
Repairs cost between
£20–£800,
depending on the condition of the pump and the work required. On average, one pump supports
50–100 families,
and the long-term cost per person helped is around
50p.

Support a child through Primary and Junior Secondary School, Secondary School, or University. We only sponsor students who would be unable to access education without your help.
Sponsor a child
Schools, businesses, organisations, and individuals can make a one-off or ongoing donation to sponsor a full class of 28–30 pupils. You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and news on the class’s progress. Please contact us for details and associated costs.
Sponsor a class
Do you produce or distribute items we could use in our work? From school books to gardening tools – practical donations like these can make a real difference.
Equipment sponsorship
In the future, we aim to launch an apprenticeship scheme for young people leaving secondary school – through our TVET colleges and in partnership with local businesses. Please contact us to express interest or learn more.
Apprenticeships
A new initiative we’re exploring through the Community Learning Centre. We’ll work with local people to identify useful courses – from literacy and language skills to practical training in mechanics or agriculture. These programmes will need funding, but their impact will be life-changing.
Community sponsorship
Support us as part of your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. From sponsoring a project to running fundraising events, your business will play a vital role in uplifting marginalised communities. We’ll recognise your support across our website and literature – and help you align with values like environmental impact, ethical responsibility, and community development.
Corporate sponsorship
We operate across 9 counties with 9 volunteer engineers – each repairing multiple hand pumps every month. More funding means more working pumps, more clean water, and more thriving communities.
