TWK mission

The prevention or relief of poverty in Kenya by providing or assisting in the provision of clean water, education, healthcare, training and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.

Our story

Founded in 2009 by Roger and Helen Pannell, Osiligi Charity Projects has provided first-class primary and secondary education for 350 disadvantaged Maasai children in rural Kenya, as well as restored access to clean water for hundreds of thousands of Kenyans through its pump repair programme.

Last year, we carried out a community consultation to ensure our work aligns with the community's hopes and ambitions for the future. This led to our transition to Together with Kenya UK and the creation of a new partner NGO, Together with Kenya Foundation. We also have exciting new projects planned to further support the Maasai community in Olepolos.

What we do

We are a UK charity, TWK UK - working with TWK Foundation (a registered NGO) across Kenya, repairing broken hand pumps and working in the Maasai areas of Kenya, helping families out of poverty through education, health and local clean water and by assisting people to become more economically active through mentorships, apprenticeships and skills based training.

As of July 2025, the team has reinstated more than 3,100 hand-pumps, benefitting over 900K people, including schools, clinics and villages.

The story of the school

Osiligi Obaya Primary opened in 2012 with the aim of providing a high-quality education to the most disadvantaged children in the Maasai community. It has gone from strength to strength, incorporating digital technology and modern teaching practices to enhance the pupils’ experiences. It is the only school in the county with a well-stocked library and a culture of reading in every class. The most recent mean Kenyan Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) score was 383, which makes Osiligi the second-highest performing school in the sub-county.
